What type of materials are used to make the paintings?
I use premium-grade artist materials to ensure the longevity of the paintings under proper conditions.
How is the provenance recorded?
The back of the artwork features my name, signature, title, and year, handwritten in archival ink or acrylic paint. I would be happy to provide a certificate of authenticity free of charge if you require one.
How are the limited-edition prints made and sold?
The giclée fine art prints are made by www.smlxl.com.au. They use twelve-colour Japanese pigment ink on Ilford 310 gsm smooth/textured cotton rag paper. The reproduction is a high-quality print using fade-resistant archival ink. That means the paper will not brown, and the colours will not change or fade for a significantly long time when kept under proper conditions.
The prints come in two sizes: 50 x 70 cm (image size) and 21 x 29.7 cm (A4) (image size). The larger print has a white border, and the A4 has no border. The print run for the 50 x 70 cm is 50, and the print run for the A4 is 100.
The prints are signed, titled, and numbered. A handwritten certification on the back verifies the print's provenance. I use archival-pigmented ink to write and sign the print. Here is an example: "This is an authorised archival giclée limited-edition print 23 of 100 of the original acrylic painting titled S264 (2019) created by Selva Veeriah."
The larger print fits any off-the-shelf IKEA frame size 61 x 91 cm (e.g., Article No: 803.657.41). The A4 size print fits off-the-shelf IKEA frame size 30 x 40 cm (e.g, Article No: 603.657.72)
Are the artworks sold framed or unframed?
Original paintings on stretched canvas are sold unframed. Each stretched canvas is painted on the sides and delivered ready to hang with D-rings and wire attached to the back; therefore, framing is optional. Original paintings on un-stretched canvas or paper are sold unframed; they would be delivered rolled up in a postal tube. You can request framing at an additional cost.
Click HERE to read my guide to framing. You can also watch videos on flattening and mounting the rolled artwork.
What is the mode of payment and currency?
All transactions are conducted in Australian Dollars (AUD). You can pay with cash or by credit card, bank transfer, and Paypal. You'll receive a tax invoice. Full payment is required before shipment unless otherwise agreed.
What is the return policy?
I give a 14-day money-back guarantee if an original artwork or print arrives damaged. The same money-back guarantee applies if you bought relying only on online images and the originals or prints turn out to be other than what you expected. You'll get a full refund—no questions asked. I'll pay for the return shipment. This return policy only applies to artworks purchased directly from me and not through a third party. We do not accept returns when artworks are purchased during a show/exhibition or sale at a designated location.
How are the artworks packaged and shipped?
Original artworks on stretched canvas would be shipped to local and overseas destinations in a reinforced cardboard box designed to withstand the challenges of transporting fragile items.
Original artworks on paper or un-stretched canvas would be shipped rolled up in a postal tube. The rolled-up artwork would be layered with acid-free tissue or glassine and placed in an acid-free waterproof plastic bag. Similarly, the larger limited-edition print would be shipped rolled in a tube, but the A4 print would be shipped flat in a reinforced envelope.
I use Australia Post Express or courier services to deliver the artwork. The artwork is insured and requires a signature on delivery. I can track the parcel from shipment to delivery via notifications from the service provider.

What are the estimated delivery times?
The artworks are usually despatched within 2-3 business days from payment. Generally, it takes 3-4 business days for delivery within Australia and 5-7 business days for overseas destinations. Sometimes, slight delays may be caused by customs procedures at the destination country. [NB: Due to Covid-19 there are significant delays in delivery times.]
Who pays the overseas customs duties and import taxes?
As an overseas customer, you may be liable for additional import taxes, customs duties, and VAT in your country. Please make the necessary enquiries before purchasing an artwork. Many countries do not impose import taxes or customs duties on original artworks (i.e., paintings, drawings, pastels, collages, and decorative plaques with or without frames).
How should paintings (and prints) be hung, handled, and preserved?

Who owns the copyright in the purchased original paintings or prints?
It's universally recognised that copyright in an artwork (original or print) remains with the artist unless expressly transferred or assigned to the buyer. This simply means you cannot, among other things, reproduce the artwork in any form for profit or otherwise without my permission. However, you can profit by leasing, selling, or exhibiting the artwork without my permission. When exhibiting a painting, you must always identify the artist and not use it in any manner that is harmful to their reputation.
Can images of the purchased artwork be shared on social media?
I consent to you sharing the artwork images on social media with the appropriate attribution.
